Foxtel installation in Melbourne: dish, iQ5 and Foxtel Now options

    2026-03-105 min read

"Foxtel" today means three different things, and the right choice for your Melbourne home depends on your internet, what you watch, and whether you're renting.

    1. Foxtel via satellite (traditional) A dish on the roof, an iQ box inside, and a smartcard. Best for: sport addicts, rural addresses with poor internet, and anyone who wants the most reliable picture. Requires professional install — we mount the dish, run coax, and align to Optus D2.

    2. Foxtel iQ5 (hybrid) The iQ5 box pulls some channels via your home internet and some via the dish. Most flexible, best UI. Still needs a working dish for sport in HD.

    3. Foxtel Now / Kayo / Binge (streaming only) No install required — runs on Apple TV, Chromecast, smart TVs. Cheapest entry point but reliant on your home internet bandwidth.

What we install Master Antenna installs both new Foxtel satellite dishes and reconnects existing dishes that have stopped working (most commonly: corroded LNB, damaged cable, mis-aligned dish after a storm). We coordinate the smartcard activation directly.

Getting a quote New dish installs and reconnections vary with roof height, cable run length and the number of outlets. We give a free written quote up front. Call us on 0497 098 109 or book on the Foxtel page.
