Doing extra points properly
Old Dandenong homes often have screw-terminal wall plates that corrode. When we add a point we usually replace the old plates too, so the whole network performs.
Typical Dandenong homes and what fails
Many Dandenong homes now have an outdoor TV on the deck or alfresco. A standard indoor outlet out there corrodes fast; we fit weather-rated fittings and run cable inside the eaves.
The steps
1. Run quad-shield cable
With compression connectors at both ends.
2. Fit the outlet
Flush wall plate, or weather-rated outdoors.
3. Tune the TVs
Every set rescanned.
